Akasa Air uses a 3-tier fare structure unique among Indian LCCs: Lite, Plus, Stretch. The cheapest Lite fare deliberately excludes checked baggage — you must add it as a paid option if needed. Akasa Air Cabin Baggage Rules
Cabin maximum dimensions: 55 cm × 35 cm × 25 cm, weight 7 kg. One personal item under 3 kg is permitted, must fit under the seat. All three fare tiers get the same cabin allowance.

Akasa Air began international operations in 2024 with Gulf routes. International baggage is more generous than domestic:

Adding Checked Baggage to Akasa Lite
Akasa Lite fares are sold without checked baggage. To add a bag:
- At booking time: Select '15 kg' or '20 kg' option on the add-ons screen — ₹600-₹900 cheaper than at airport counter
- Post-booking: akasaair.com → Manage Booking → Add Baggage. Up to 4h before departure
- App: Akasa Air app → My Trips → Add Baggage
- Airport counter: Last resort — most expensive at ₹600/kg
Akasa Air Special Baggage
Sports Equipment
Bicycles, surfboards, golf bags accepted as checked baggage. Items over 158 cm linear dimension incur ₹2,500 oversize charge plus standard weight overage. Pre-book via akasaair.com Special Baggage form.
Musical Instruments
Small instruments (ukulele, violin) within cabin baggage limits travel free. Larger instruments must be checked or seat purchased. Hard case strongly recommended.
Pets
Akasa Air does not accept pets in cabin or hold on any flight, domestic or international. Use a mainline carrier for pet travel.
