This page explains how HappyFares uses artificial intelligence (AI) to help you: Meera, our AI travel assistant; Radha, our assistant on WhatsApp; voice search; our phone line; and the calls we make to you. It is part of our Terms of Use. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle the data these services use.
HappyFares is run by Travelogy Online Private Limited, A4, Level 1, Krine Vista, Anand Nagar, Lane 3, GS Road, Guwahati, Assam 781005.
1. Our AI assistants
Meera is our AI travel assistant. You can chat with her on our website, in our app and inside ChatGPT, and speak to her on our phone line. She searches flights, explains fares and fare rules, gives a "book now or wait" read, answers travel questions, looks up your bookings, and helps you book, change or cancel.
Radha is our AI assistant on our WhatsApp numbers. She answers questions about bookings, refunds, baggage and flight status, and passes you to our team when needed. Where a change or cancellation can be made on WhatsApp, she makes it only after the confirmation described in section 5.
Meera and Radha are in beta, which means they can make mistakes. We may add more AI features. When we do, this page and our Privacy Policy will say so.
2. We always tell you when you are dealing with AI
Meera and Radha say they are AI assistants at the start of every chat and every call. A call from Meera or a call answered by Meera begins by saying so and that the call is recorded. We never present an AI as a person.
3. A person is always available
You can ask for a person at any time: in a chat, on WhatsApp or on a call. On a call, say "talk to a person" (or press the key the call tells you). If no one is free, we offer a callback and tell you when it is booked. Our team can see what you already told the assistant, so you do not repeat yourself.
4. What the assistants can do for you
The assistants can, when you ask:
- search flights and show fares, and hold a fare with Fare Lock;
- start a booking and send you a secure link to pay;
- give flight status, booking details and refund status;
- explain fare rules and what a change or cancellation would cost;
- start or complete a cancellation or a date change on your booking;
- set a price alert, add a service to your booking, or arrange a callback.
They do not take payments themselves. You always pay on our payment partner's secure page, through a link we send or on the website.
5. Nothing is done on your booking without your clear yes
Before an assistant changes anything on your booking, it reads back exactly what will happen: the travellers, the flights, what you will pay or get back, and any fee. It acts only when you say yes clearly. This applies to every booking action: a cancellation, a date change, a new booking, a paid service or a Fare Lock. For anything you buy, it reads back the price and the refund rules of what you are buying.
A cancellation or change you confirm is passed to the airline straight away. Once the airline has processed it, it usually cannot be undone. If you did not mean it, tell us at once and we will try to stop it, but we cannot promise the airline will reverse it.
We tell you the real state of things. Payment received is not the same as a ticket changed: an assistant says a booking, change or cancellation is done only after the airline has confirmed it, and until then says what is still waiting. If we cannot confirm the result, we say so, ask you not to pay again, and check it. We then send you a written confirmation by email, WhatsApp or SMS.
6. How we check it is you
Before an assistant shows or changes a booking, we check it is you. For example, you call or message from the mobile number on the booking, or we send a link to the mobile number or email on the booking for you to tap. For some changes we may also ask for the booking reference.
We will never ask for your card number, CVV, UPI PIN, net banking password, or a one-time password (OTP) sent to you by your bank or payment app. No real HappyFares assistant or team member will. If anyone asks, end the call and tell us.
7. Calls we make to you
Meera's calls to customers are not available yet. When they start, this is how they work.
- Calls you asked for. If you tick the box on the booking page asking us to call or WhatsApp you when a booking does not go through, Meera or our team may call you to help you finish it. We call between 9 am and 9 pm. The tick lasts 7 days, then it lapses. A tick is permission for that request only; it is not permission for promotional calls or messages.
- Calls from Meera are automated calls. The telecom rules treat a call placed by software or an artificial voice in a special way. We follow those rules, and Meera says she is an AI at the start of every call.
- Calls about your booking. We may call you about a booking you made, for example when the airline changes or cancels your flight, or a payment needs your attention. Urgent calls about a flight in the next 24 hours may come at any hour.
- Promotional calls come only if you agreed to them, and we follow the telecom rules for them.
- Stopping calls. Say "do not call me" on any call, or write to help@happyfares.in. We stop calls of that kind and keep your choice so we respect it. Calls and messages about a booking you hold still come unless you ask us to use email instead.
We follow India's telecom rules for the numbers we call from and for declaring automated calls to our telecom operator.
8. Voice: what happens to your voice
- Voice search and talking to Meera. When you speak to search or to Meera, your voice is turned into text by a speech service so we can understand you. We do not keep your recording.
- Your browser's microphone. On some screens the microphone uses your browser's own speech service; your browser's maker handles that audio under its own terms.
- Voice messages on WhatsApp. If you send a voice message, an AI service turns it into text so we can answer.
- Calls. Calls with Meera or our team are recorded and written down (transcribed). We keep recordings for 120 days and transcripts for 1 year, to check quality, settle disputes about what was agreed and prevent fraud. Where you confirm a cancellation, change or booking on a call, the record of what you confirmed is kept for 8 years with your booking record, so that we can show what was agreed after the recording is deleted. Privacy Policy section 11 lists all the periods.
- No voiceprints. We do not use your voice to identify you, and we do not create a voiceprint.
9. AI can be wrong
Meera and Radha are in beta. AI assistants can misunderstand or make mistakes. Please check the written itinerary, price and conditions before you pay or confirm a change. If two pieces of information disagree, ask us to sort it out before you go ahead.
If an assistant gives you a wrong fact and you act on it, or does something on your booking you did not confirm, tell us at once and we will look into it. Nothing on this page takes away a right you have under the law.
Meera's "book now or wait" read is an estimate of which way the fare may move, based on past fare movements on that route. Fares can move either way. It is not a promise.
10. How we use your conversations
We use your messages, calls and voice-to-text to answer you, help with your booking, keep records, and check and improve the quality of our answers. Our team reviews a sample of conversations for this. We do not sell your conversations or use them to advertise to you. The AI services we use on our website, app, WhatsApp and phone line process them for us under contract; Privacy Policy section 6 explains this. Inside ChatGPT, what you type is first received by ChatGPT's provider under its own terms; Privacy Policy section 8 explains this.
11. Fair use
Please do not use our assistants to try to break our systems, get other people's data, harass our team, or for anything unlawful. We may end a chat or call that does.
12. Changes
We will update this page when we add or change an AI or voice feature. The date at the top shows the latest version.
