SpiceJet 24-Hour Cancellation Rule (DGCA)
Under the DGCA's Civil Aviation Requirements (CAR) Section 3 Series M Part II, all Indian airlines including SpiceJet must offer a full refund (excluding government taxes and non-refundable transaction fees) if you cancel within 24 hours of booking — provided the booking was made at least 7 days before the scheduled departure. This protection applies to all fare types including non-refundable SpiceSaver fares.
To use the 24-hour free cancellation: log in to spicejet.com → My Bookings → select the flight → "Cancel" → reason "Within 24h DGCA window". The refund is processed automatically within 5–7 business days.

How to Cancel SpiceJet Ticket Online
- Open spicejet.com and click "Manage Booking" (top right)
- Enter PNR (6-character code from ticket email) + lead passenger's last name
- Select the flight you want to cancel — if a round trip, you can cancel one leg or both
- Click "Cancel Booking" — the system displays the fee + refund amount
- Confirm — refund is initiated automatically to the original payment method
- Email confirmation arrives within minutes; refund timing depends on the bank

Open the app → My Trips → select flight → tap the "Cancel" button at the bottom. Same fee structure as the website.
Cancelling Through SpiceJet Customer Care
SpiceJet 24/7 customer care: 0987-180-3333 (paid) or 0124-475-3333. Allow 15–20 minutes for the call. Telephonic cancellation may carry an additional ₹400 service fee.

What If SpiceJet Cancels Your Flight?
If SpiceJet cancels your flight (operational reasons, schedule change, no-fly day), DGCA CAR Section 3 Series M Part IV applies:
- Within 24 hours of departure cancellation: SpiceJet must offer either a full refund OR alternate flight (their choice + your acceptance)
- If alternate is not acceptable: you can demand full refund within 7 days
- For delays of 6+ hours: SpiceJet must provide meals, refreshments, hotel accommodation (if overnight), and either a refund or alternate flight
- Denied boarding (overbooking): compensation of ₹10,000 + alternate flight + 200% of one-way base fare (max ₹10,000) for delays >24h
File a formal complaint via spicejet.com/customer-care → "Compensation Claim" within 30 days of the event for a structured response. If unresolved within 30 days, escalate to the DGCA via airsewa.gov.in.
