Star Air 24-Hour Free Cancellation Window

Under DGCA Civil Aviation Requirements (CAR) Section 3 Series M Part II, Star Air must offer full refund (excluding government taxes and non-refundable transaction fees) for any cancellation within 24 hours of booking, provided the booking was made at least 7 days before scheduled departure. This applies to all Star Air fares.

How to Cancel a Star Air Ticket

  1. Visit starair.in → click 'Manage Booking' (top right)
  2. Enter PNR (6-character code from ticket email) + last name of lead passenger
  3. Select the flight to cancel — for round-trips you can cancel one or both legs
  4. Click 'Cancel Booking' — system shows the fee and net refund amount
  5. Confirm — refund initiated automatically to original payment method
  6. Refund email confirmation arrives within minutes; bank settlement takes 5-10 business days

Cancelling via Phone

Star Air customer care: 080-4800 0800 (Mon–Sat 9 AM – 9 PM IST). A ₹300 telephonic-service fee applies on top of the standard cancellation fee.

What If Star Air Cancels Your Flight?

If Star Air cancels your flight (operational/weather reasons), DGCA CAR Section 3 Series M Part IV applies:

  • Within 24h of departure cancellation: Star Air must offer either full refund or alternate flight (your choice)
  • For 6+ hour delays: meals + refreshments + (if overnight) hotel accommodation
  • Denied boarding (overbooking): Compensation up to ₹20,000 + alternate or refund
