Everything about your IndiGo (6E) boarding pass: how to get it, re-download a lost one, mobile vs printed, and airport timings.

Verified June 2026
How to get your IndiGo boarding pass: Complete free web check-in on goindigo.in or the IndiGo app (48 hours to 60 minutes before a domestic flight, 24 hours to 75 minutes for international). IndiGo’s "Smart check-in" delivers your boarding pass straight to your WhatsApp number and email; from the app you can also email or print it.

Lost it? How to re-download your IndiGo boarding pass

Lost it? Re-open goindigo.in → Check-in, enter your PNR and last name, and download the pass again — or use the IndiGo app. You can also collect it at any IndiGo airport counter or print it at an airport self-service kiosk (kiosk reprint is not available once counters have closed).

Mobile vs printed pass

IndiGo officially recommends carrying a printout of your boarding card even after mobile check-in — it is the one major Indian carrier that explicitly asks for a printout, so if you can print, do.

A mobile (digital) boarding pass is accepted at Indian airports by the airlines that issue one — there is no official rule requiring a printout, and Delhi Airport markets fully paperless domestic travel. That said, carry a valid government photo ID at all times (it is checked at terminal entry alongside your boarding pass or ticket), and for international departures most airlines still verify your travel documents at the counter before issuing the final pass.

Airport check-in fee & gate timings

IndiGo does not publish an airport counter check-in fee — counter check-in is available and not separately charged. (The fee table lists a ₹350 booking fee and ₹299 convenience fee, which are booking charges, not check-in.)

Counters close 60 minutes before domestic departure (75 minutes international); boarding gates close 25 minutes before departure at every airport. Report 2 hours ahead domestic, 4 hours international.

International IndiGo flights

On international flights IndiGo blocks web check-in for bookings paid with an international credit/debit card, and for unaccompanied-minor and medical/stretcher cases — these are handled at the counter.

Using DigiYatra (paperless airports)

DigiYatra is the free, optional facial-recognition system at 38 Indian airports (including Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, Kolkata and Navi Mumbai). You enrol once with Aadhaar, but you must upload your boarding pass for every flight and share it with the departure airport (the e-gate scans the boarding-pass QR first, then your face). It is domestic-only — international departures are still on the roadmap — and passengers travelling with infants cannot use it. Even DigiYatra users should carry a physical government photo ID.

IndiGo boarding pass — FAQs

How do I get my IndiGo boarding pass again if I lost it?

Go to goindigo.in, click Check-in, enter your PNR (booking reference) and last name, and download the boarding pass again — or open the IndiGo app. You can also get a fresh copy at any IndiGo airport counter, or print it at an airport kiosk before counters close. There is no charge to re-download.

Does IndiGo accept a mobile boarding pass?

IndiGo delivers a digital boarding pass to WhatsApp and email, but it officially recommends carrying a printout of your boarding card as well — IndiGo is the one major Indian carrier that explicitly asks for a printout. A mobile pass works at most domestic airports, but printing avoids any issue at security or boarding.

When does the IndiGo boarding gate close?

IndiGo boarding gates close 25 minutes before departure at all airports — be at the gate at least 30 minutes before. Check-in counters close 60 minutes before a domestic flight and 75 minutes before international.

Is a mobile boarding pass accepted for IndiGo in India?

A mobile (digital) boarding pass is accepted at Indian airports by the airlines that issue one — there is no official rule requiring a printout, and Delhi Airport markets fully paperless domestic travel. That said, carry a valid government photo ID at all times (it is checked at terminal entry alongside your boarding pass or ticket), and for international departures most airlines still verify your travel documents at the counter before issuing the final pass.

Can I use DigiYatra for my IndiGo flight?

DigiYatra works with any airline at 38 Indian airports, including for IndiGo flights — it reads your face instead of checking documents at three checkpoints.
