‘Defence Fare’ is a Special Fare only for our Defence Personnel (Introduced by Happyfares)
‘HappyFares’, the newest entrant in the Indian Online Flight Booking domain has introduced a Special Category of ‘Concessional Airfares’ exclusively for the Defence Personnel of Indian Armed Forces and Paramilitary Forces. This ‘Concessional Airfares’ concept is known as ‘Defence Fares’. This special fare offers convenience and savings of up to 25% on Air Ticket for Domestic Airlines. As per this concession, all Defence Personnel, Veterans, and their Dependents will be eligible for Discounts — Up To — 25% on Domestic Flights.
This fare applies for all War Widows, Serving or Retired personnel, or the spouse / dependent child of the Armed Forces or Paramilitary Forces of India. Our soldiers can avail of this service at the lowest convenience fee. All they have to do is log-on to the portal https://www.happyfares.in/ and check the ‘Defence Box’ option, just above the flight search bar, and put their ‘ID Number’ to avail this exclusive offer. Customers can reach HappyFares through our website and mobile app.
Most army men get their leave sanctioned at the last minute which barely affords them the time to book a railway ticket. As a result, traveling for the service people becomes very tedious. Even if they plan to travel by flight, the recent flight ticket rates will be too high. To bring an end to this, we thought of a solution that we could offer exclusively to them. As a result, we came up with this special price relaxation on air tickets for our defence personnel known as ‘Defence Fares’.
We provided the airline, a closed user group category of people who travel daily (by train & flight) as they could help them fill those empty seats at a lower cost. The airlines we associated with looked at offering exclusive offers to the Armed Forces and thereafter almost all the airlines bought into the concept. Hence, it became easier for us to implement this concept.
Initially, the concept of ‘Defence Fares’ was started by one or two airlines. But later most of the airlines adopted this concept making it uniform for the overall airline industry.
The key to the business was to find the need, find the solution and match the two. The same thing has happened here, but for a better cause.

I have booked my tickets under this concept on 13 Oct 21 for 8 Dec 21 ,due same domestic reason i request you to postpond my tickets for 10 Dec. But you sais that I have to pay Reschedule charges of Rs 6464 per person, whereas my two tickets cost is Rs 5260/- or if i cancel the tickets your company will refund only Rs 450/-
so which way your company giving concession. here also still 43 days remaining to travel.,
whereas other flight returned full amount or deducting 300/- per person .
I request Vistara don’t involve such agency like Happy fare in online booking. who keep the fare with them and not refund to customers.
I want know that if I am going reschedule/cancel well in advance why company not refunding full amount. pls forward campany T&C on this subject.
