⚠️ There is no airport at Sapa
Sapa, a mountain town of terraced rice fields and ethnic-minority villages in Vietnam's far north, has no airport. The nearest is Hanoi Noi Bai International (HAN), about 320 km away. From Hanoi, travellers reach Sapa by expressway coach or by the classic overnight train to Lào Cai, the railhead in the valley below. (A new Sa Pa airport at Lào Cai is under construction but not yet open.)

Getting There from India
🇮🇳 Fly to Hanoi (HAN) — direct from Delhi and Mumbai on VietJet, Vietnam Airlines and IndiGo, around 4.5–5 hours. From Hanoi, take an expressway coach or limousine van (~5–6 hours) straight to Sapa, or board the overnight train to Lào Cai and transfer up to the town.
By Train
🚆 Lào Cai is the nearest railway station, about 35 km below Sapa (≈1 hour by road). The overnight Hanoi–Lào Cai sleeper train is a popular, scenic alternative to the road, after which a shuttle climbs to Sapa.
